Wildflowers at The City of Onkaparinga, South Australia

The City of Onkaparinga first purchased some of our wildflower seed mixes in April 2021 to create their 'Wildflower Wonder' at Woodcroft’s Robert Wright Park. Their goal was to create a more feasible (cost-effective) and beautiful option in contrast to a lawn in metropolitan conditions and to add a touch of wildness to local reserves and parks. They then expanded their meadow to Thalassa Park, Aberfoyle.

While most wildflower meadows are hand-seeded, the City of Onkaparinga established their meadow by using 'hydroseeding' which involves spraying liquid mulch mixed with wildflower seeds.

Widlfower seed mix used: Marvellous Meadows.

Stage 1 - Clean Seedbed

All existing grasses and weeds were removed to create a clean seedbed.

Stage 2 - Hydroseeding Seeds

A process that involves mixing wildflower seeds with liquid mulch and then sprayed onto a cleared seedbed.
