Description

This wonderful and colourful wildflower blend is made up of over 35 plant species, guaranteeing a staggering variety of flowers and colours. It also means it is very adaptable to multiple types of ground, as well as any space - from planters and pots to whole fields of buzzing bees.

For a community, as well as for gardens at home, this flowery wildflower meadow mix is the perfect way to promote and safeguard biodiversity.

This blend was developed in collaboration with the entomologist Jerome Yvernault and expert beekeepers, creating the perfect bee-attracting flower mix.

Composed of 16 annual plants (such as Common Cornflower, Beebush and Dahlia) and 18 perennial plants (such as Lavender, Nepeta Walker's Low, Evening Primrose and Meadow Sage).

This mix is specifically designed for import into WA.

For areas with full sun and good soil, 2 grams per square meter, or 3 grams for a denser flowering, is ideal. For areas larger than 500 square meters, aim for between 2-4 grams per square meter, but do not exceed the recommended amount.

Keep in mind, more seeds do not equal more flowers; instead, they will compete with each other, resulting in lesser species growth.

Please note: Photos are for illustration purposes only. Species included may vary based on season and availability.

QUESTIONS WE'RE OFTEN ASKED ABOUT BUTTERFLY FLOWER SEEDS

What are butterfly flower seeds?

Butterfly Flower Seeds are chosen seeds that will blossom into flowers meant to draw in butterflies and other pollinators, such as bees, due to their nectar-producing qualities. They consist of a variety of flowers, like the common Cornflower, Beebush and Dahlia. This helps establish a flourishing environment for these insects and is particularly suited for elegant gardens in Australia while being suitable to its climate.

Plant these flower seeds from Meadow Flowers Australia to draw in butterflies and other beneficial insects that aid local ecosystems by fostering native Australian species in your garden, irrespective of your gardening expertise level.

Which flowers grow from butterfly flower seeds?

Butterfly flower seeds from Meadow Flowers Honey and Butterfly Mix produce a stunning array of blooms that attract butterflies and bees. Flowers like the Lavender, Borage, and Dill are among the best for attracting butterflies. These wildflower seeds are perfect for creating a vibrant and eco-friendly garden.

Seen regularly in Australia, these blooms are also great for enhancing the ecosystem and biodiversity of Australian wildlife, adding to the beautiful nature that makes Australia unique. Buy butterfly flower seeds at Meadow Flowers and watch your garden flourish with butterfly-friendly flowers. With easy-to-grow butterfly flowers, your garden will be alive with colour and pollinators in no time!

Why should I sow butterfly flower seeds?

Sowing butterfly flower seeds is a simple way to create a beautiful, vibrant garden while supporting local ecosystems and encouraging thriving flora and fauna. These butterfly flower seeds also invite bees, helping create a sanctuary for native species.

These butterfly garden seeds include wildflower seeds that attract butterflies and are designed to thrive in Australian climates.

Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, birds, and other insects, provide several key benefits to flowers. Pollinators transfer pollen from one flower to another, enabling fertilisation, which produces seeds and fruits. This is essential for the reproduction of many flowering plants.

How do I plant butterfly flower seeds in my garden?

Planting butterfly flower seeds is easy and rewarding. Enjoy the results by selecting a sunny location with well-drained soil first, sprinkling the garden seeds evenly on the soil surface, and gently pressing them in to ensure they are properly embedded in the soil.

Ensure the plants are watered, and the soil's moisture is maintained until the seeds sprout. These beautiful, butterfly-friendly flowers are simple to grow and will soon blossom in your garden, drawing butterflies and bees alike. Opt for wildflower seeds from Meadow Flowers for blooms that will catch the attention of butterflies. Butterfly seeds have many advantages, including promoting cross-pollination, which leads to healthier plants with increased genetic variety that aids in them adapting to environmental changes.

What is the best time to sow butterfly flower seeds?

The optimal time to plant butterfly flower seeds is either spring or autumn when the soil is damp and the weather is moderate. These circumstances facilitate the sprouting of simple-to-cultivate butterfly flowers. In Australia, sowing during autumn enables the seeds to establish themselves before the intense heat of summer arrives.

Creating a garden that attracts butterflies and supports pollinators is important for sustaining ecosystems. Pollinators aid in the growth of flowering plants that allow various food chains and habitats to flourish. Consider purchasing butterfly flower seeds to witness the fantastic blossoms that benefit local wildlife: these seeds are ideal for creating butterfly gardens!

Which butterfly-attracting flowers are native to Australia?

Australia is known for its wide variety of flowers that attract and support its butterfly population. Notable species include Everlastings, Swan River Daisies, and Billy Buttons. The blooms are superb as a meadow and fresh-cut flowers for drying. They are drought tolerant but perform best on moist and well-drained soil, in sun to part shade, making them an excellent choice for butterfly-friendly gardens.

Planting a mix of wildflower seeds can create a sanctuary for butterflies and bees in your garden or outdoor space. Choosing wildflower seeds known for attracting butterflies helps sustain the ecosystem. If you're interested in cultivating a butterfly habitat at home or in your garden, consider purchasing butterfly flower seeds from Meadow Flowers. We offer high-quality seeds ideal for creating low-maintenance butterfly gardens while also contributing to the preservation of wildlife species!

How long does it take for butterfly flower seeds to grow?

Depending on the conditions, butterfly flower seeds generally germinate for 7 to 21 days. After germination, the flowers can take several weeks to bloom, with most varieties reaching full bloom within 8 to 12 weeks. These easy-to-grow butterfly flowers thrive in well-drained soil and plenty of sunlight.

Sowing butterfly garden seeds in the right conditions can produce vibrant blooms that attract pollinators. Butterfly flower seeds have a variety of environmental benefits, one of which is that they assist in plant reproduction, where pollinators help maintain and increase Australian biodiversity by supporting a diverse range of wildlife through nourishing the natural food chain. Cross-pollination (pollen exchange between different plants) results in more robust, healthier plants with greater genetic diversity, which helps them adapt to environmental changes.

Do butterfly-attracting flowers require a lot of maintenance?

Most flowers that attract butterflies require minimal upkeep and are simple to care for. The top choices for attracting butterflies with flowers include varieties of butterfly garden seeds that are sturdy and well-suited to Australian weather conditions.

Australia is home to wildflower seeds that attract butterflies, such as Lavender and Meadow Sage, which are known for their hardiness and ease of care. These flowers thrive with essential watering and sunlight, making creating a garden that welcomes pollinators easy. Choose butterfly-friendly flower seeds from Meadow Flowers for a low-maintenance yet beautiful space!
