Product Description
Bring instant colour to your garden in those shady areas with our Flowers for Shady Places Mix.
Who says you can’t have colour in the shade? With this decorative, shade-tolerant wildflower mix you can! This mix is designed for shady spots such as forest edges, the foot of trees, relatively sparse undergrowth, lightly foliated tree-lined driveways, etc.
Composed of 12 annual plants (such as Trailing Lobelia, Candytuft and Common Poppy) and 16 perennial plants (such as Wood Forget-Me-Not, Dame's Rocket and Yarrow), these dwarf and tall wildflower species are best suited for harsh conditions and areas.
Follow the advice given on our How To Sow page to get the best results - a glorious flowering show from early Summer to Autumn.
If you are sowing in areas with less than 6 hours of sun, poorer soil conditions, under trees, or on slopes, a 3-gram rate would be ideal. For areas larger than 500 square meters, aim for between 3-4 grams per square meter, but do not exceed the recommended amount.
Keep in mind, more seeds do not equal more flowers; instead, they will compete with each other, resulting in lesser species growth.
