Why You'll Love It

French Marigold Tagetes patula Mix produces large, densely double flowers with a distinctive crested centre in a warm, festive mix of red, orange and golden yellow, often in striking bicolour combinations. Compact, neat and reliably free-flowering, it's one of the best bedding marigolds available.

Growing to only around 20cm tall, it's a natural fit for borders, window boxes, pots, containers and mass plantings, and brings a long run of colour from summer right through to the first frosts. Easy to grow and low-maintenance, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and is a reliable favourite with bees and butterflies.

It's also a great companion plant near the vegetable patch, where its strong scent is widely used to help deter pests and draw in beneficial insects.
